Tips To Clarify Your Life Vision And Live With Passion

You may be tempted to think that vision is simply for businesses and leaders of big corporations. After all, life can get so busy and you may find yourself being more concerned about making a living, working, paying bills, raising kids rather than thinking about vision. And it may also seem to be a waste of time.

But let’s see how vision is important and how it can apply to you personally.

“A vision is not just a picture of what could be; it is an appeal to our better selves, a call to become something more.” Rosabeth Moss Kanter

God created you on purpose for a purpose. He made you unique, with a unique personality. He gave you gifts and talents, passion, aspirations, and dreams. And it’s your job to discover them and use them to their full potential.

Vision is becoming the best you can be and thriving while staying true to who you are. It’s being part of something greater. It relates to your future, the big picture of your life. It’s about projecting yourself in a few years, let’s say 10 years.

Vision is linked to:

  • You. What kind of person do you want to become? How do you see yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally in the future? In what state of mind do you desire to be? Do you see yourself full of love, joy, and peace? A gossiper? A victim? Frustrated, angry, and bitter?

  • Your Lifestyle. Imagine the way of life, style of living you aspire to. Active, healthy? What values and attitudes will reflect? What kinds of friends do you surround yourself with?

  • Your Relationships and Family Life. How are your relationships evolving? How do you relate to each other? If you are single, do you see yourself having a family? And if you are married with kids, how do you see your family growing and living together?

  • Your Career. Who do you want to be in the future? Where do you see yourself working? What level or position you hope to achieve? Are you enjoying yourself? Satisfied at work?

  • Your legacy. What do you want to accomplish? What difference do you want to make in people’s lives? Good or Evil? What breaks your heart? What change do you want to see around you?

  • Your Spirituality. How are you trusting God? How are you growing in your faith? How mature are you?

  • Your Finances. How much money/wealth do you want to have? How are you financially successful?

This may seem too much to reflect on, so please take your time. You can write them down in a journal and ask God to guide you. He created you so He knows you better than you do.

Having a vision will inspire you, give you a sense of direction, and will help you make the right choices. Even your past story will have a new meaning and will make sense.

Of course, life happens, and unexpected events may occur, things may not turn out as planned. But even if you find yourself on a different path, you can still dream again. God can open new doors for you. It’s never too late.

On the other hand, not having a vision will only make you wander in life without purpose. You may even find yourself living someone else’s dreams. At the end of your life, you will have deep regrets. Sadly, it will be too late.

Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”

Now is the right time to set your life vision.
